Between 11-13th September 2017, London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) will be hosting a series of creative workshops at local schools in Dartford and Gravesend, North Kent. LRCH will be visiting the schools in partnership with Aardman, the studio behind world famous productions such as Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.

Over the course of three days, Aardman and LRCH will be visiting 4 local schools in order to create an educational and fun experience. The workshop will involve characters from their many series and feature films, and educate the children on how they create their well-known clay characters and an insight into how stop-motion animation works. Participants will also have the opportunity to make and take home their own Shaun the Sheep model.

One of the schools that LRCH and Aardman will be visiting in September is the Cherry Orchard Primary School in Ebbsfleet Valley. The Cherry Orchard Primary School will be opening in September 2017 with state of the art facilities. It is part of the Leigh Academies Trust and is located in the up and coming Ebbsfleet Garden City. The fun, interactive workshops taking place this Autumn will educate local children, not only about the background to some of their favourite shows, but also about the exciting plans for the entertainment resort in Swanscombe.

Humphrey Percy, CEO of LRCH, said:

“This is an amazing opportunity for the local community to gain an insightful look on how some of their favourite characters on television are created. We are committed to engaging members of all ages within the local community and believe that through our partnership with Aardman we can help achieve that.

We are encouraged that these fantastic sessions will be beneficial to all and look forward to them”.

Sean Clarke, Head of Rights and Brand Development at Aardman added:

“We are delighted to be working with the London Resort to offer opportunities for school pupils in the Swanscombe area to get hands on and create some of their favourite characters from the Aardman series. The UK is home to some of the World’s best animations and Wallace, Gromit and Shaun have travelled across the globe. We hope to inspire the next generation of animators and creators in sessions like these!”
